I love techno and therefore have been to many electronic music festivals, mostly in Germany but also everywhere in the world. These days I don´t go much anymore, because as a Human Design Caves person, I hate camping and not having my privacy for days, but I used to enjoy it a lot.

Fusion
Ticket Price: 220€
Location: Flugplatz Müritz Airpark
People: 70.000
The most known one is probably Fusion Festival which always takes place in the last week of June and lasts from Thursday until Sunday. That being said, it is one of the biggest and most extensive festivals Germany has to offer. Reaching from Techno, to House, Downtempo and even live music, there is something for every person. But what truly makes Fusion special, is the stage design and artwork you can find everywhere.
It almost feels like Alice in Wonderland and the exploration is without end. Even at night the scenario changes again with the different light shows and individual people who contribute to the artscape.
Personally, i wouldnt go there anymore now because it is too long, too intense and too many people for me, but I had a really good time every time I went and I can highly recommend to check it out at one point. Unfortunately I was always really unlucky with the weather; either way too hot or nonstop rain. So make sure you´re prepared for all circumstances.

Nation
Ticket Price: about 200€
Location: Grünefeld
People: 10.000
Nation of Gondwana always takes place in mid July close to Berlin just by a lake in the middle of the woods. Its quite a small festival, yet big enough to have three stages setup and always run into new people. The music on the main stage will be harder techno, the other one softer house and another small one showcases newcomers and experimental music. Generally it attract a bit "older" people between 25-40 I´d say and more on the techno side. I used to go there a lot because the lineup is usually great and it is not as intense and crowded as Fusion.
Getting there is quite easy with a local train and then shuttle. You can also come by bike, which Iusually did. Just be aware that you´ll still need energy after dancing 2-3 days to go on the ride back.
Every single time I have been there, it was extremely hot, meaning over 30 degrees. Fortunately there is a lake on site, so you can refresh yourself. (although after the first day, the water looks quite gross) already haha)
The foodstands are actually pretty good, with vegan or vegetarian meals and open around the clock. However if you wanna be more flexible and save some money, you can bring your own as well.

Feel Ticket price: 170€
Location: Lichterfeld-Schacksdorf
People: 15.000
I went to the first FEEL festival edition and it was one of my favourites. It used to be by the new BER airport in Berlin but now has changed location a bit further away from the city. It always takes place towards the end of July and is medium in size and people.
The lineup is always secret until the festival begins, but there is never a need for disappointment. The best DJs from Techno and other electronic music play on several different stages.
The concept of FEEL is to be open, honest, inclusive and a place for free expression, so very diverse people will come and show style and uniqueness.
I haven´t been there in a while though, so things might have changed till now.
However you can find further information HERE
Whole
Ticket price: 255€
Location: Ferropolis
People: 8.000
I have to admit, that I´ve never been to Whole Festival but most of my friend have and everyone is hyped about it. That is the reason I wanna add it to my list here, so you can see for yourself if it resonates.
Probably it comes most closely to Berghain from vibe and people, as it is a queer space and sex positive.
Everyone dresses up sexy to nothing and body acceptance / bodypositivity are important keywords.
The music spectrum reaches from hard Techno to Acid to Bouncy House and serves all tastes and flavours. But there is not only music, but all sorts of creative performances and even an art market.
You can check their website HERE to see if the vibes resonates.
